American Roulette Instructions

The object of the game is to bet on the number, or section of numbers, into which the ball will drop.

Begin by buying ‘colour’ chips from the dealer. These have no value marked on them and, unless you specify otherwise, will be valued at the table minimum. The minimum and maximum betting limits are clearly displayed on each table. The colour indicates to the dealer that the particular chips belong to you. You may also play with ‘cash’ chips, these chips have a value displayed on them.

Before the dealer spins the ball, and during the early part of the spin, you may place chips on the numbers, and on the combinations of numbers, on the table layout. Examples of bets and bet combinations, together with their payouts, are given below.

You may also play ‘neighbour’ bets. A ‘neighbour’ bet is a bet for a number ‘straight up’, and for the two numbers either side of it on the wheel. The minimum stake on a ‘neighbour’ bet is €25 on all tables with a minimum bet of €5 or less all tables of €10 and above the minimum stake is five times the table minimum. These bets must be given directly to the dealer.

The dealer will announce ‘No More Bets’ as the ball begins to slow, after which no further bets will be accepted. Once the ball has dropped, the Dealer will place a marker on the winning number.

The dealer will clear the layout of losing bets, leaving the winning bets. All winning bets will then be paid according to the following odds:

Straight up 35:1
Split 17:1
Street 11:1
Corner 8:1
Six-line 5:1
Dozen 2:1
Column 2:1
1-18 or 19-36 1:1
Red or Black 1:1
Odd or Even 1:1
